In 2002 the first LifeLine system derived from the Myriad LifeLine System came into existence.
With the advent of the disability discrimination act, LifeLine filled a void for those who were hearing impaired. Connected to Fire Alarms it communicated events to those who may not normally hear the alarm bells.
In addition to the hearing impaired, those who could not exit buildings using stairs were allocated refuge points to be evacuated by staff. These areas were managed by LifeLine Refuge systems.
LifeLine was fitted on many universities, government buildings and large corporate buildings to fulfil the requirements of those with disabilities.
